The fully-managed 'DAB as a service' solution
DAB in the Cloud simplifies small-scale DAB. Using a radio station's existing web stream, audio is encoded in the cloud and 'blended' into a single DAB/DAB+ multiplexed stream - which is sent over the internet to your transmission site(s) for broadcast. Optimux software provides a user-friendly interface to multiplex including adding & removing services; managing carriage agreements; monitoring alerts and providing status reports; and generating invoices and collecting direct debits on your behalf.

Optimux
The complete small-scale DAB multiplex management solution
Optimux is a powerful and easy to use multiplex management solution. Fully ODR-compatible, the user-friendly dashboard allows administrators to add, remove and configure stations on the multiplex. Optimux continually monitors the multiplex with SMS/email alerts enabled and full performance reporting available to stations. Optimux Advanced includes invoicing and direct debits to ensure automated payment of carriage fees each month. Optimux Professional allows each service provider to listen to the audio feed of their DAB broadcast.

World leading HTZ Communications Spectrum & Radio Planning Software
As used by Ofcom, Viamux utilises HTZ's coverage planning software - the leading DAB design & spectrum engineering solution. HTZ provides our customers with the most accurate coverage planning predictions for your small-scale DAB licence application. Our coverage plots are network predictions that incorporate composite and overlapping SFN assessments and full analysis of outdoor and indoor coverage at 63dBuV/m, 54dBuV/m, 38dBuV/m, and 29dBuV/m, including population breakdown by Ward detailing the percentage overlap and overspill. Viamux coverage predictions utilise high resolution building information to provide full digital clutter modelling.

Viamux provided the the Irish state broadcaster RTÉ and the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland (IBI) with a two small scale DAB+ radio multiplexes, broadcasting every station on the Irish Radioplayer. Installed in Dublin, the multiplexes carry all 36 of Ireland’s commercial radio stations along with RTÉ’s nine services. The network also switches listeners seamlessly between the Irish Radioplayer app and free-to-air DAB+. |
Niocast Digital operates the DAB+ multiplex in Manchester, England. Launched on Friday 28th August 2015, the small scale 'minimux' became the most populous multiplex in the world, in 2017, carrying 26 eclectic and exciting DAB+ programme services and bringing unprecedented listener choice to the city. Today it hosts 24 services and continues to provides an essential platform for new content and format innovation. |
